You are back in England and you need a haircut. Wandering down the street you see a new hairdressers. It’s called ‘Cut The Crap’. And you keep on walking.
And you’d be right to. But this isn’t England and this Cut The Crap hairdressers is In Sweden…
So what do you think I did? That’s right, got myself a cut the crap haircut… I am your eyes, ears and hair in Stockholm.
In many ways it reflects a bit of the Swedish attitude, like Ronseal it does exactly what it says on the tin – nothing more, nothing less.
Speaking to the hairdresser, the owners son is apparently the one responsible for the name. He’s a ‘creative’ (try genius!) type and local artist. His paintings hang up in the salon and are not bad if you go for the whole ‘put as much paint on a canvas as possible in no discernible order or form’ – or ‘Jazz painting’ to riff on my last weird moment post.
In the least surprising news since they officially moved the Qatar 2022 World Cup from the Summer to the Winter (corruption? What corruption?) they get a lot of English people going in to get their hair cut. A lot. And it’s all because, like me, the name draws them in to see if it’s going to be a good or bad. Hell, it’s even got it’s own Instagram feed,
I hate to bring him in again here, but I have once again have to wonder what Maddog would make of all this. Not only is he my go to sandwich specialist, but he also appreciates a fine haircut…. and most importantly isn’t afraid to pay for it. Some might argue too much, but can you put a price on good hair Maddog? Even if you are paying the equivalent of a months worth of rent every time (Maddog not me!)
Anyway, have a great weekend everyone, and look after each other’s hair out there, it’s windy…
